Breast reconstruction can be a great relief for our patients in Arkansas who have undergone breast removal or distortion due to breast cancer treatment or another disease. Due to new surgical techniques, our surgeons have the ability to create reconstructions that look and feel like natural breasts.
Breast Reconstruction Options
Breast reconstruction is typically performed in a hospital setting under general anesthesia. There are many different techniques: including tissue expanders, implants, and flaps (your own tissue). Thankfully the procedure has no known effect on the recurrence of cancer, and breast reconstruction can often be performed at the same time as a mastectomy or at any time there after.
