Your skin goes through a lot over the years, with sun exposure, harsh facial products, and the natural aging process. Over time, you might notice your skin becoming dry, discolored, and dull. With microdermabrasion, you can refresh the appearance of your skin for a smoother, more youthful look and feel! Here’s what you need to know:
It can treat a range of skin concerns
Microdermabrasion works to exfoliate the outer layers of skin, removing dirt and debris as well as dead skin cells clogging your pores. This can help to reduce the appearance of mild scarring, sun damage, and discoloration, providing a smoother and brighter appearance. At the same time, microdermabrasion promotes the growth of new skin cells, which can improve deeper concerns like stretch marks, fine lines, and wrinkles. Microdermabrasion can be performed alone for rejuvenated skin, or can be used to prep the skin prior to another skin care treatment.
The process is comfortable and noninvasive
Microdermabrasion is completely noninvasive! During treatment, a small instrument will be guided across the skin using gentle sanding to exfoliate the skin. Only the epidermis, or outer layer, is affected during the process, so you can expect minimal discomfort during and after treatment. After microdermabrasion, you might experience a slight red or pink appearance to the skin, but this should fade within 24 hours.
Your results are easy to maintain
After treatment with microdermabrasion, you can expect smoother skin right away with more improvements as new skin cells are regenerated. Because microdermabrasion is so gentle on the skin, many choose to come back for regular treatment sessions to maintain their results. Most patients start out with two treatment sessions a month, and then one per month or as needed.
