Rhinoplasty

in Rogers, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Springdale, Arkansas

Discover the art of transformation through rhinoplasty—a surgical procedure designed to refine and enhance the nose’s shape, size, and symmetry. Often referred to as nose reshaping, or more commonly as a “nose job,” rhinoplasty can achieve an elegant balance of facial features by delicately sculpting bone, contouring cartilage, and adjusting soft tissues. This treatment can address a range of functional issues with the nose, as well. Rhinoplasty is the gold standard for enhancing nasal aesthetics, restoring a nose that has been affected by injury, correcting a deviated septum, and alleviating breathing difficulties caused by structural problems within the nose.

Whether you are seeking rhinoplasty for cosmetic or medical reasons, one of our board-certified plastic surgeons at Taylor Plastic Surgery & Skin Center is available to evaluate your unique needs and concerns during a consultation to develop a treatment plan based on your personal goals for nose reshaping.

Rhinoplasty is one of the most common procedures performed at Taylor Plastic Surgery and has helped many patients enhance their appearance and correct functional nasal problems. Our plastic surgeon can talk with you about your goals to determine whether this option is right for your needs.

What Does the Rhinoplasty Procedure Involve?

Generally, a rhinoplasty is a highly customizable surgery designed around each patient’s anatomical features and nasal structures to remove and/or contour affected tissue, bone, and cartilage in the area. At Taylor Plastic Surgery, rhinoplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure in our state-of-the-art, highly accredited on-site surgery center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Before your procedure, you will be administered anesthetic medication. This treatment typically lasts about two to three hours, depending on the complexities of the case.

After the procedure is complete, you will be taken to a recovery area where you will be further monitored. You can likely return home within a few hours of surgery.

What Can I Expect During Rhinoplasty Recovery?

Immediately following a rhinoplasty procedure, it is normal to experience some degree of bruising, swelling, tenderness, and minor discomfort in the nasal area. During this time, prescribed pain medication may be taken as needed until symptoms gradually resolve. A temporary splint may need to be placed on the nose to provide protection and support for the new nasal shape. The splint is usually removed after five to seven days. Specific post-operative care instructions will be provided and your progress will be monitored during follow-up appointments. Most patients are able to return to work and normal daily routines within 7 to 10 days; however, strenuous activities (especially those that involve physical contact near the face) should be avoided for at least four weeks.

How Long Will Rhinoplasty Results Last?

When performed by an expertly trained and experienced surgeon, the results of a rhinoplasty procedure are expected to be permanent. For an optimal outcome that can last a lifetime, it is important to follow all post-surgery care instructions and attend all follow-up visits to ensure the surgical modifications made to the internal structures are properly and completely healed. However, in the case of injury or dissatisfaction, a revision rhinoplasty may be an option.
