Exosomes

Hair loss can affect not only your appearance, but your self confidence too. With Exosome hair restoration, both men and women can achieve thicker, fuller hair in as little as one in-office treatment.

What are Exosomes?

The Exosomes used at Taylor Plastic Surgery are a full spectrum abundance of ALL NATURAL Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid, Growth Factors and billions of therapeutic Extracellular Vesicles to aid in collagen and skin cell regeneration. Exosomes are isolated from donated human amniotic mesenchymal stem cells and purified using proprietary processing.  The unique benefit of these exosomes is that they are stem cell-derived and bring a wide array of growth factors. Because they’re so small and nimble, exosomes can remain hidden in the bloodstream, and carry multiple doses of proteins across barriers that cells are not able to cross.

Here’s how exosomes work: exosomes are micro-vesicles that are responsible for communicating from cell to cell. You can think of them as the cell phone of the cell. They essentially tell tissue and other cells what to do; for example, if they’re introduced to a wound, they can tell the skin to produce more collagen to speed up cellular turnover. Because exosomes are the center of cellular communication, they can be programmed to perform specific actions that produce your ideal results.

Who can Benefit from Exosomes?

Both men and women might experience hair thinning and balding with age. Hair loss or thinning due to inflamed or damaged cells in the hair follicle may be treated by administering these regenerative proteins and molecules. These components may help reduce inflammation to promote healthier, stronger hair follicles, and may stimulate new hair growth. There are many solutions to hair loss, so our doctor will meet with patients first to determine if they are a good candidate for treatment or not.

Treatment with Exosomes

The first step is providing local anesthesia to the desired area to numb the region. The exosomes are then injected into the scalp using the tiniest of needles just under the skin to thinning scalp areas. The injections are spaced carefully to maximize the treatment effect with concentrated protein factors that promote hair growth. The treatment is effective in both men and women with most patterns of hair loss. Because the preparation is acellular, the treated areas do not demonstate any inflammation or redness post-treatment.

After Treatment with Exosomes

Exosomes may begin promoting natural hair growth in as little as two to three months following treatment. New hair growth can continue over the course of a year, with most noticeable results six months post-treatment. Many patients begin to see significant growth after only one treatment, but some opt for a second treatment at six months to promote additional growth. The new hair growth can provide patients with thicker, fuller looking hair.

The only restriction is to avoid aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs for 3 weeks following the procedure.  Following the procedure, you may go home and shower. Be aware the treated area may be tender. Many patients return to work or their daily routine the same day.
