Different signs of aging can be improved with dermal fillers like Restylane-L®. This type of filler is formulated to plump up and add volume to the skin while smoothing out moderate-to-severe wrinkles and folds. This specific injectable helps to remove nasolabial folds and marionette lines. At the MedSpa at Taylor Plastic Surgery, we offer this amazing injectable treatment to our patients.
Restylane-L is a dermal filler designed to plump up and smooth out the skin. It is made of Hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. Hyaluronic acid holds moisture, aids in tissue repair, and helps the skin structure. This is a substance that is naturally occurring in the body. As we age, the production of hyaluronic acid starts to slow down. By injecting it into the skin it helps the production of hyaluronic acid as well as helping elastic and collagen stay together. The lidocaine in the injectable is a form of local anesthetic which helps to keep patients comfortable during the injection session. Restylane-L can also be used for lip augmentation for patients who want plumper, fuller lips.
The Restylane-L results have been shown to last in most patients for up to 18 months. For patients who wish to maintain their results, follow-up sessions can be scheduled at Taylor Plastic Surgery. Some results will be seen immediately, but the best results will be shown after 2-3 weeks.
Ideal patients for a Restylane-L treatment are 21 years of age or older. Candidates wish to augment their lips to remove wrinkles and fine lines. These aging signs are typically caused by poor tissue support structure. At a consultation appointment with Dr. Robert Taylor at Taylor Plastic Surgery, he will talk with you about any allergies you have as well as go over your medical history to make sure this is a safe treatment for you.
